Virtual Brain Check-Ups
A memory screening is a simple and safe “healthy brain check-up” that tests memory and other thinking skills.
If you answer “YES” to any of the following questions, you might benefit from a memory screening.
Am I becoming more forgetful?
Do I have trouble recalling words or names in conversation?
Do I have trouble concentrating?
Am I misplacing things more often?
Do I have difficulty performing familiar tasks?
Do I sometimes forget where I am or where I am going?
Have I become lost when walking or driving?
Have family or friends told me that I am repeating questions or saying the same thing over and over again?
Have my family or friends noticed changes in my mood, behavior, personality, or desire to do things?
Memory screenings are also appropriate for the following individuals:
Anyone with memory concerns
Anyone experiencing warning signs of dementia
Individuals with a family history of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or a related illness
People who do not have a memory concern right now BUT want to check their memory now for future comparison (baseline memory screen)
Part of a regular wellness check-up | A series of questions or tasks | Takes approximately 5-15 minutes | Provided by a healthcare professional
We are a registered National Memory Screening site with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and our staff has completed training, in addition, to their advanced educational degrees and field experiences, as qualified healthcare professionals to administer memory screenings.
Memory screening appointments provide screening results & a brief consultation with one of our professional staff members and will be scheduled for 30 minutes.
Memory screening results are NOT a diagnosis but results can indicate if someone might benefit from a comprehensive medical evaluation. A memory screening is a significant first step toward finding out if a person may have a memory issue.
